<title>Preliminaries</title>
<para>This CAcert Policy extends the <glossterm>Assurance
Policy</glossterm> ("<acronym>AP</acronym>") by specifying how
<glossterm>Organisation Assurance</glossterm> ("<acronym>OA</acronym>") is
to be conducted by an <glossterm>Organisation Assurer</glossterm>
("<abbrev>OrgAssurer</abbrev>") under the supervision of the
<glossterm>Organisation Assurance Officer</glossterm>
("<acronym>OAO</acronym>").</para>
<para>This policy is not a <glossterm>Controlled Document</glossterm>, for
purposes of <glossterm>Configuration Control Specification</glossterm>
("<acronym>CCS</acronym>").</para>

<title>Purpose</title>
<para><glossterm>Organisation Assurance</glossterm> allows an
<glossterm>Organisation</glossterm> to issue
<glossterm>Certificate</glossterm>(s) using CAcert <glossterm>Public Key
Infrastructure</glossterm> (<quote><acronym>PKI</acronym></quote>).</para>

<title>Organisation Assurance Officer</title>
<para>The <glossterm>Organisation Assurance Officer</glossterm>
(<quote><acronym>OAO</acronym></quote>) is responsible for
<glossterm>Organisation Assurance</glossterm> and reports to the
<glossterm>Assurance Officer</glossterm>
(<quote><acronym>AO</acronym></quote>) who in turn reports to the
<glossterm>CAcert Board</glossterm>.</para>
<para>Responsibilities include:</para>
