<para>This CAcert sub-policy extends the <glossterm>Organisation Assurance
Policy</glossterm> ("<acronym>OAP</acronym>") by specifying how
<glossterm>Organisation Assurance</glossterm> ("<acronym>OA</acronym>") is
to be conducted by the assigned <glossterm>Organisation
Assurer</glossterm> ("<abbrev>OrgAssurer</abbrev>") under the supervision
of the <glossterm>Organisation Assurance Officer</glossterm>
("<acronym>OAO</acronym>") for entities within the defined scope.</para>

<title>Scope</title>
<para>This sub-policy is applicable to:</para>

<para>Any <glossterm>Organisation</glossterm> registered in Europe
with a pre-approved trade office registry ("<glossterm>Approved
Registry</glossterm>")</para>

<para>This follows the European style of Chambers of Commerce (e.g
Chambers of Commerce in continental Europe, Companies House in the
United Kingdom and Ministry of Justice, Finance, or Commerce in Eastern
Europe)</para>

<title>Requirements</title>
<para> This section describes any sub-policy specific requirements that
are not otherwise defined in the <abbrev>OAP</abbrev>.</para>

<title>Appoved Registry</title>
<para>An <glossterm>Approved Registry</glossterm>:</para>
<itemizedlist>
<listitem>
<para>Must follow the general model of a <glossterm>Trade
Office</glossterm> and is thus a formal authority for dealing with
local trade matters</para>
</listitem>
<listitem>
<para>Must have an official mandate by law to register certain types
of <glossterm>Organisation</glossterm> (eg sole traders,
partnerships, companies, associations)</para>
</listitem>
<listitem>
<para>Must have a search facility service that provides reliable
documentary <glossterm>Record</glossterm> of the registration of an
<glossterm>Organisation</glossterm></para>
</listitem>

<title>Organisation</title>
<para>An <glossterm>Organisation</glossterm>:</para>
<itemizedlist>
<listitem>
<para>Must be registered with an <glossterm>Approved
Registry</glossterm> with an <quote>active</quote> status or
equivalent.</para>

<listitem>
<para>May have zero or more <glossterm>Registered
Name</glossterm>(s) in addition to the name of the <glossterm>Legal
Entity</glossterm>.</para>
</listitem>
<listitem>
<para>Must be a distinct <glossterm>Legal Entity</glossterm> (eg
incorporated) OR the constituent <glossterm>Legal
Entity</glossterm>(s) must be identified.</para>

statuses with different liabilities. The
<glossterm>Organisation</glossterm> may not be capable of legally
becoming a <glossterm>CAcert Member</glossterm>, independently and

individuals are Members, and which are therefore the natural legal
entities behind the names. </para>
